Social Integration Campaign

The Global Connections and Exchange Program aims at promoting understanding and bridging the divide within the Palestinian Territories and further a field. Through many initiatives we try hard to meet and achieve these goals. The Social Integration Campaign is one initiative that the Jenin CBLAC has started targeting several disadvantaged populations in the district, aiming to integrate and mix them with RI-SOL’s students club in Jenin so as to helping to make them feel that they are an important part of a homogeneous and harmonious community.

Every month students choose one group of disadvantaged people to focus on. These have included orphans, disabled, autism patients, the elderly, and poor children who are working to support their families. RI-SOLs students feel mature and responsible towards these groups that they have to make a positive change in their life. Old people and orphans must feel that they are remembered, disabled and autism patients should feel that they are able just like others and lack nothing. Finally, the child labor phenomenon must be dealt in a reasonable way through peer-to-peer education. In this manner RI-SOL students provide a chance for the child laborers so that they can catch up their lessons while supporting their families. Many strong and lasting relationships with different organizations and schools for the disabled have resulted from this ongoing campaign. These community organizations and charities have expressed great gratitude for RI-SOL and the GCE program.
