"Youth for Change" in Salfeet become Junior Police

The Relief International-Schools Online (RI-SOL) Youth Social Entrepreneur Club in Iskaka village recently won one of RI-SOL's ECA–funded 'Youth for Change' micro-grants to set up a 'Junior Police' project. This project is being implemented in cooperation with the Salfeet District Police Department.

Coinciding with Global Youth Service Day, 27 students from schools in Iskaka village, Salfit town and Deir Istiya trained with police officers to learn about traffic laws and road safety. "The main objective of these projects is to bridge the gap between the community and the police force," explained the director of police in Salfeet. By building this relationship, the new 'Junior Police' officers have helped to teach their communities about the importance of the rule of law and the need to work together to build a stronger society.
